Great River Area Faith in Action’s service region is about 400 square miles (see map below). We serve an area roughly spanning from Rogers to St Cloud, to Sartell to Princeton, on down to Rogers, and are not bound by county lines, as are the County’s social service agencies. Some of the communities we serve include: St Cloud, Sartell, Sauk Rapids, Waite Park, Princeton, Zimmerman, Elk River, Otsego, Rogers, St Michael, Albertville, Monticello, Big Lake, Orrock, Santiago, Becker, Clear Lake and Clearwater.
Since we serve such a large area, and offer a diverse assortment of programs and services, the programs we provide in each community varies, and is determined by a community’s specific needs, as well as by our own internal capacity.
As a large service provider and ministry, we recognize some communities may already have other programs in place that may provide services somewhat similar to what we offer. For example, in the St Cloud metro area there are many great agencies and ministries delivering services for families facing issues such as poverty or homelessness, including: Catholic Charities, Place of Hope, Salvation Army or TriCAP. And though many of these also serve the greater area outside of St Cloud, we understand they too may have limited capacities, and that their presence may not be as great in say, rural Sherburne or Mille Lacs counties as it is in St Cloud. Which is why in some of our local communities there is a great need for our Family Support Services program. It functions to connect those hurting families to the limited resources that do exist in their area, as well as offer support, counsel and hope during tough times.
Since resources are precious, we are very careful to not duplicate services being offered by other agencies or ministries.
